Colors to paint our home

Entrance:

Bold and vibrant colors such as red, blue and orange make a good first impression. While, in small spaces such as the lobby and hallways, the use of yellow can make it feel expansive and welcoming.

Living Room:

A communal space, the living area functions as a dedicated area for quality family time. Tranquil colors such as soft blue and green relieves stress and encourages relaxation. A warm brown tone helps create a soothing aura where the family members feel comfort and togetherness. The liberal use of red also induces liveliness to make it a high-energy social area.

Dining Room:

Dining room is a lively setting where the whole family comes together to share a meal, stories and laughter. Bright colors such as orange add an energetic feel and stimulate our appetite. Green can also be used to represent health and nutrition.

Kitchen:

A kitchen is a place of high activity, therefore yellow is an excellent choice. Yellow increases metabolism, gives energy and communicates cheerfulness.

Bedroom

Bedroom is a place where we relax after a long day. Calming tones such as light shades of green, blue and purple allow our mind and spirit to regenerate and helps induce sleep. In a bedroom, green is for fertility, blue for peace, and red for passion and love.

Children’s Room:

While the norm is ‘blue for boys and pink for girls’ a much larger thought must be given, especially upon the child’s nature. For a hyperactive child, over-stimulating colors such as red and orange could raise tension levels, whereas for a quiet child, calm colors such as green and blue might help in maintaining his/her energy levels.

Office:

Office room colors should be determined by purpose. Meeting rooms, private cabins could be blue for calmness and focus, whereas relaxation rooms could use creative color combinations to put the mind at ease.
